“Crayola Education believes that when kids lean into their personal creative aspirations, creativity can take them anywhere,” says Cheri Sterman, Director of Crayola Education. “This vision and more has inspired the Crayola Creativity Week 2023 theme: Turning today’s interests into tomorrow’s careers.”

Crayola Creativity Week is a free program for kids in schools, libraries, and homes all over the world, designed to celebrate the joy of creativity by bringing inspiring celebrity stories, exciting educational content, engaging virtual events and awesome product giveaways to kids, educators and parents everywhere!

Who will inspire my students during Crayola Creativity Week?

Celebrity talent – including Broadway Star Ali Stroker, Comedian James “Murr” Murray and co-founder of Run DMC Darryl “DMC” McDaniels (just to name a few!) – will share inspiring, real-world stories around how expressing creativity as a kid led them to their career today. They will encourage kids to share their creative ideas, and express themselves through art.

Meteorologist and TV news personality Dylan Dreyer had this special message to share around how creativity has had a profound impact in her own life:

How does Crayola Creativity Week support my curriculum?

Crayola aims to support learning through cross-curricular, creative learning experiences like Crayola Creativity Week and provides educators with Education Standards Alignment for the US and 12 countries.

Crayola Creativity Week messages and experiences were designed to inspire students and help them express their ideas confidently. The learning experiences presented during the week, and in the Crayola Education content shared throughout the year, weave in multiple subject areas, including visual art, dance, STEAM, literacy, culture, kindness, and more. The main point expressed throughout Creativity Week is that when children apply creative thinking and express their ideas, every learning experience becomes richer and more engaging.

How can I make the most of my class’s participation in Crayola Creativity Week?

Each day of the week there is a daily creative challenge for kids. Once completed, Crayola encourages teachers (and parents) to share the child’s artwork online using #CrayolaCreativityWeek for the chance to win daily product giveaways and fun opportunities – like having the student’s artwork featured in a KIDZ BOP music video.

Participants can also tune in to a special livestream event on January 27 at 2pm EST to see celebrations occurring around the world and hear inspirational messages from celebrities including Lyric Hurd, Nathan Chen, and KIDZ BOP.
